I know little about the family of my grandfather David, my mother's father. Although we lived nearby, I met very little with him, and ran more to my grandfather Genoch. Grandfather David met me well, but he was always busy. He was a cobbler and almost constantly around him sat his clients. I loved to sit by Genoch and watch how he worked, as he made products out of sheet metal.
My mother had 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Two sisters died during the Holocaust, and the younger brother died during the war. Brother Boris passed in the ghetto and concentration camps with my father, and his wife and two children died in the ghetto. After the war he married again and he had a son Leva, and in 1987 he emigrated to the US and now Leva Bleyman lives with his family in Philidelphia. The children of one sister Ida emigrated to Canada, and the other sister Bertha, who was with us in Gorky, her descendants remained in Riga and only the younger grandson and his family went to Germany. This is all I know about my mother's family.
